06/02/2012   CANCELLED.  The AGM and Special General Meeting planned for tonight - Monday 6th February 2012 - has been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.  A revised date will be published on the web site and by email when this has been decided.

Replacement Members Financial Services Telephone Number

Please note the replacement free phone telephone number for The “Member Financial Services” general insurance line is 0800 496 1437. This line is in current operation and will ensure members gain access to competitive Home and Motor insurance. The services will be extended to include Travel insurance in the coming weeks, and I’ll notify you once this goes live.

 
23/02/2010   The directors have decided to call the Annual General Meeting (AGM) for Monday 28th March 2010 at the Rainbow Rooms, 2 Wych Elm, Harlow, Essex, CM20 1QP starting at 7:00pm.  All members are very welcome to attend.

 
31/08/2009   The directors have decided to close the office for personal caller on Wednesday 30th September 2009 to allow the end of year accounts action to proceed without undue complications.  We also respectfully ask members not to call the office on that day to enable us to complete the end of year processes as quickly as possible.

Open letter in response to the Star’s letter
“Levy on credit unions is unfair”

Contrary to the letter written by Councillor Lorna Spencely, the compensation payment, which Harlowsave is due to pay the FSA in September, will not adversely affect us. The amount due (of approximately £450) is well within our budgeted contribution which we regularly make to the FSA to protect our members (like all other credit unions).  Therefore, this will not affect the services offered to our members and the wider community.

We thank Councillor Spencely for the interest she has taken in Harlowsave and look forward to her continued support as we grow and expand our services in Harlow.  As she rightly points out, here at Harlowsave we help people access financial services on affordable terms.  During this difficult economic climate we are busier than ever but coping with the demand.

20/04/2009   At a successful AGM the directors of Harlowsave proposed measures for the improvement and development of the credit union to long serve the members in Harlow and beyond.

 
26/03/2009   The AGM has had to be re-scheduled to Monday 20th April 2009 starting at 7:30 pm due to the meeting numbers not reaching the quorate number.  In accordance with the rules of the Credit Union this meant that the re-scheduled meeting had to be held within one month of the original set date.  The agenda will remain the same.  Please note this change of date, and that the location will be in the conference room of the new office complex - click here for the location. 

 
23/03/2009   The AGM of Harlowsave will be held in the new office complex - in the conference room located behind the new office.  It will start at 7:30pm on Monday 23rd March 2009.  See the contact page for detail of how to get to the new office.  There will be signs up showing the actual location in the courtyard of the Rainbow Buildings.

18/01/2009   To improve and extent the service we are able to give to our members Harlowsave is moving to new premises.  The move will take place on the close of the offices on Friday 27th February 2009 (that is after 2pm).  The new address will be:

The Rainbow Building, 2 Wych Elm, Harlow, Essex, CM20 1QP

Click here for a location map.  This is next door to the drop-in health centre - we are located in the forecourt  on the left of the main Rainbow building.  There is a ramp for wheel chair access.  Access for all members is via the courtyard entrance.

Telephone numbers and email remain the same.  Hours will be the same as before (as stated on our contact page).

To facilitate the move the offices will be closed on Monday 2nd March 2009, and re-open on Tuesday 3rd March 2009.  We ask for members patience during this move.  A restricted telephone service will be available on the Monday.

22/09/2008   The directors of Harlowsave have decided that  we need to close the office on Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th of September to carry out essential end of financial year work.  We apologies to members for any inconvenience

 
27/07/2008   Thank you to all our members who completed our recent membership survey.  We have received a good feedback from the exercise, and Harlowsave Credit Union are actively incorporating many of your suggestions into the way we run the organisation, and the services that we supply.

The winning membership number was 138 in the survey draw.

19/02/2008   A highly successful AGM was held on Wednesday 19th Match 2008 at the offices of Harlowsave.

 
27/02/2008   Harlowsave are pleased to announce that the AGM of the organisation is now re-scheduled for Wednesday 19th March 2008 at 21 The Rows, Harlow, Essex, CM20 1BZ starting at 7pm.  There will be a mail-shot with full details sent to all current members.  All current members are entitled to, and actively encouraged to attend.
